Begin at Moongate Entrance and hike up to Rest Station 5. Continue on the Moongate trail and bypass the numerous junctions along the way. As you near Rest Station 84 (another 300m), there is an old disused rest stop. Walk to the other side and locate the trail which leads south. Follow along this trail until emerging into a cleared area. There is a building on the property and apparently dogs as well. Continue hiking until reaching the motorcycle trail which begins near the Bottom Funicular Station and winds around to join up with the Middle Station. Heading uphill you will come across a large number of Buddhist stuppas perched atop concrete foundations. The stupas are painted gold so you cannot miss seeing them. Take the trail on your right which winds its way through the numerous stupas with the trail leading back to the motorcycle trail. From here continue on until you reach a junction. To the left is Middle Station and to the right is Claremont Statio and Viaduct Station located near Viaduct Road West . Continue past the station and cross under the viaduct and locate the trail which leads you towards Station 84. It is unmarked. Follow the trail to 84 and continue on the forest trail on the other side of the toilet facilities. The trail comes out on Jeep Trail Road with rest station 47 located on the other side of the Road. Follow the unpaved path to Rest Station 46 and locate the entrance to 1500 Steps which lead to the Botanical Gardens.
