Itinerary description

A very beautiful walk but quite strenuous at times. It is not a difficult walk but during the part along 'Les 4 Fils Aymon' one must be careful and the climb from Bogny-sur-Meuse to the 'Rocher de 7 Villages' is steep.

Monthermé and Bogny-sur-Meuse are beautifully situated and you will be rewarded with ample picturesque views of these villages during this walk.

The beginning is easy, walking along the Meuse to the Abbey of Laval Dieu and once the track disappears into the woods it remains easy until you get to the rocks of 'Les 4 Fils Aymon'. Here one must be attentive, especially under wet conditions, but the site is amazing and the views spectacular.

From Bogny-sur-Meuse an at times very steep track goes up via two fantastic view points, the 'Point de vue de L'Hermitage' and the even more imressive 'Rocher de 7 Villages'.

The track may be strenuous but it is a very beautiful one. The descent to the river is also very nice but you will still be going up and down quite a lot.

During the last part along the river you will be accompanied by the imposing hills with their very steep slopes.

A very beautiful walk, indeed.
