Itinerary description

Nice panoramic loop to the peak of Monte Pizzoccolo, which seen from the east side of Garda lake is known as “Napoleon nose” , bit cloudy day, starting from Ortello di Sotto (around 700 Mt.), on the way to per S. Urbano, following the path 27 / 27A, most of it with big trees and plants all-over, crossing a little wooden bridge, and few rock climbing spots, going on where the vegetation is getting less deep, some slightly exposed rocks have to be climbed without ropes or equipment (just be careful and concentrate on where you step), after crossing this rocks and passing the solar-eolic light, the peak is right few meters after, where, in a clear sunny day the view of the Garda lake is really amazing. Just below the peak there is a tiny church in memory of the war soldiers, and next to it, a wooden table with side benches where you can rest in case of need. The easy way down is through the path number 5 and then 11, the last part, almost to the starting point, is used in som spots by tractors and heavy machinery to work the wood in the forest. So far is a nice walk to have a wonderful relaxing view of the lake, in case somebody prefer to skip the exposed steps it can be done on the opposite way following the 11 and 5 and back on the same (5 and 11). No water on the paths. Enjoy 😊

Capella dei cadutti come piazza dei caduzzi

[2021] The hike was amazing. Just be careful: the number of the trails have changed. To go, you must follow route 287 instead of 27. To go back, follow route 211 and then 206. Have fun, and be careful on your way to the top, the rocks might be tricky (but the view is SO worth it)!
