Beautiful trek with easy access from Rome. Amazing views of Campo Felice (karst plateau). Ascent isn’t overly steep and there isn’t too much loose rock compared to some other trails in the Abruzzo region so good for most levels.
That being said, hiking boots and plenty of water are both necessary. Also, be ready for quick weather changes. We encountered rain, cold winds, and hot direct sun multiple times throughout - rain gear and layers highly recommended.
Lots of parking in front of La Vecchia Miniera (The Old Mine), which doesn’t seem to be operational, at least at the moment.
