Simple route to climb Mount Omoto, the highest peak on Ishigaki Island and in Okinawa Prefecture. The route runs through the island's subtropical jungle, where its greatest interest lies.
The path is quite well marked, the only problem you may have is that, depending on the time of year you do it, there are areas of the path almost taken over by undergrowth, forcing you to cross it. In fact, at the very top we had to climb on some rocks to see some views.
The total distance is about 5.5km, as can be seen the track on the way back did not follow our route well.
