Twin excursion to the previous one made on 02/09/2022 with the only addition, in the return phase, of a detour to the chapel of the Madonna della Neve.
The climb from the Slovenian village of Rateče, a small jewel of perfectly renovated houses and matching colours, proved to be a success today too. The entire route was protected from the hot sun's rays thanks to a dense, providential forest. Today we shared the summit with a group of handsome Slovenian teenagers, an unknown number, they told us there were 125 of them. It was hard to take photos of the summit without colliding with a few dozen of them. For the descent, like last time, we opted for the CAI 522 which, still in the woods, took us to the crossroads for the chapel of the Madonna della Neve. Very pretty, we find it set in a context of bright green meadows full of crocuses. Returning to take the 522, a descent begins on a wide and comfortable track which, unfortunately, at the crossroads that veers left to reach the town of departure, becomes a path with a stony surface which is a great joy for feet and ankles. The final stretch leaves the 522 to take a track which, passing through gates and fences, takes us to the car passing through the pastures surrounding Rateče.
