Itinerary description

As escadarias centenárias resistem à erosão ainda hoje. Leitura recomendada:

In English:
The Monte Crista is the most famous mountain in the Joinville's region. With 3172ft above the sea level, the mountain received this name because its shape remembers a gallo's crest. Located in Garuva city, the mountain can be accessed through an exit in BR-101. There is a park lot where you can parking your car paying R$15,00 per day. You'll also have to pay another R$4,00 to cross the suspension bridge above the Três Barras' River.
Continuing the trail you'll cross the Crista's River. Be careful, the water level of this river can increase very fast when it's raining. Recently a fatal episode happened there:

The trail goes on through the historic Peabiru's path, once used by the Inca Civilization to travel from the Pacific Ocean until the Atlantic Ocean. The historical rock steps remain there until today. Recommended reading:

There is a part of this path called "saboneteira" where many people fall while walking, because the floor is very slippery. After crossing 5 water streams you will reach the clearing, which marks the half of the trail. From the clearing, you can access 2 waterfalls and a little grotto. From now on, the trail becomes very steep.
In this expedition, we headed forward passing through the "cabeluda" region and reaching the high altitude camps of Quiriri, where we walked until the Popsicle Stone, 3608 feet above the sea level. We passed through many camping areas and streams. In the way back, I summited the Monte Crista and went to the Mountain's Guardian.
The trail is hard, there is many obstacles, you must have a good shape to trail it. Carrying backpack, you will need 4 hours until the top, and another 3 hours until the Popsicle stone. Do not do fire pits, respect the nature. Bring your garbage back, unfortunately this mountains suffers with many irresponsible visitors who left their garbage there, as you can see in the photos.

Olá, camarada. Tudo certo?
