Itinerary description

Part-hike, part-photo expedition, the day turned out to be the perfect reprieve from the city for the three of us. An 8am start, though late by most standards, gave us enough time to leisurely explore the scenery while stopping numerous times to examine the flora and fauna of the region (Staghorn Sumac!). It also proved the ideal amount of time to avoid the looming downpour which came in strong in the late afternoon. A quick arachnid photo-op in a cave combined with lunch with hawks and vultures rounded off a great day.
