Itinerary description
Mont Fleuri and Mont Tardevant from Les Confins de La Clusaz and back, Massif des Aravins.
Done 11th October 2015 (sunny, no rain, dry path, not cold, no wind, not yet snow)
Leaving the car in the parking of Les Confins, this trek follows a good path, also well marked and signposted, direction northeast. There are few paths that leave to the right for going updifferent valleys to the Chain of the Aravins. This one leaves going up the valley of the Gand Forclaz, gaining meters fast. The upper part of this valley has loose rocks that made the trek difficult, and specially the last bit turning to the left before reaching the ridge, which is very steep as well as well as difficult.
Once in the ridge, this one has to be followed until the Mont Fleuri. First half is again quite steep with no apparent path, and the second one is just a bit aerial, but nothing difficult for someone with a little experience. Magnificent views from the summit, specially of the massif du Mont Blanc.
We go back until we reach the point where we had previouly reached the ridge, and there we descend a bit toward the opposite direction in order to go around a pinnacle and continue going up towards Mont Tardevant.
Once in the summit of Mont Tardevant, we descend towards the valley of Tardevant following a very steep pooly marked path, straight towards a small lake that can be seen half way down the valle. From the lake the path is well marked, and just has to be follow to reach few mountain chalets and the main path that will take you back to the parking of Les Confins.
