Itinerary description
Nice hike that starts in Monaco at Port Hercules. There are a couple different routes you can take from Monaco to La Turbie. I've done 2 different routes so far, an both were nice hikes. I like the one on this map here a bit better as it is more of a trail through the woods than a mix of road and trail.
Once you leave La Turbie, follow the main road out of town towards Eze. A little ways after you pass through the round-about, you will see a crosswalk that leads straight into a set of dumpsters. Just to the left of the dumpsters there is a small road and you will see the trail signs there. Follow that road to the end, and there are a lot of options for different trails over this area. It appears they will all meet up eventually.
At the end of this section, there are a few options again. You can continue to hike up to what I think was Eze Mountain, or head on one of two paths to Eze Village. I took the path to the right, but I think the path to the left may have been more direct and easier to follow. Mine still wasn't bad. Just spent a little time walking down the road looking for the next path.
Once you get to Eze, take some time to explore! It is a beautiful, though very touristy, old village. There are a few options for very nice, though very expensive meals up there. They may not seat you after your hike up, but you can at least get a drink and snack at the bar and spend a bit of time relaxing after your hike and enjoying the spectacular views!
From the main driveway up to Eze, there is a small turn off for the Nietzsche trail that heads down to Eze Sur Mer and the train station. After a nice rest and a coffee at the top, this made for a nice jog down to the bottom to finish off the hike! Be careful if you do decide to run it as there are some loose rocks and gravel along the way, but nothing that should be to hazardous if you are paying attention.

Heel mooie wandeling. Wanneer de conditie goed is kan je heerlijk genieten van deze toch pittige wandeling.
