Itinerary description
I hiked from Aiken Mine Road to Kelbaker Road before the day grew hot. This was the first place I attempted to use my tent for shade. The wind snapped one of my tent poles, which then ripped my tent. I spent most of the afternoon wedged against the side of Old Dad Mountain, which provided a sliver of shade that grew as the sun passed overhead.
