Itinerary description

This hike takes you south down into and around the oak hammock area and trails by the St Johns River. It is similar to the Persimmon Mound hike, but shorter and takes you around a small trail system setup by the SJRWM authority. There is an airboat shelter/picnic area down by the river. It is a great place to stop and have a picnic. I have never encountered anyone there during my many trips, but who knows. I hope you enjoy the area as much as I have. As you can see by my other local hikes, there is a lot to see. Please, "take nothing but pictures and leave nothing but footprints". Happy trails....
