Itinerary description
Most of the trail is on soil or dirt road, but there are a few rocky parts. The initial ascent of Medenitsa is quite steep and strenuous. You can skip the peak and still have a rewarding hike by turning right shortly after the first intersection waypoint and following the dirt road.
The crossing of the main road should be done at a completely different point, but I missed the track to it. As a consequence I had to walk for a short distance along the main road.
The final stretch (after the ski centre waypoint) is a steep descent along the ski slopes. I can't tell whether this was the intended path, or of there exists a more gradual alternative.
The entire hike is out in the open, with no shade or cover. The parts high up on the mountain can be cold and windy. There is no food or water anywhere along the way. Prepare accordingly, and have fun!

Medenitsa summit
The summit provides you with a 360 degree panorama, and you can see lake Mavrovo from here. The view is not the most spectacular, though, and there are some better views along the way.

This point is accessible by car from the main road. There is a small restaurant here at the base of the ski slope, but it appears closed outside of the skiing season.
