Itinerary description
The best way to see Mount Fuji is not by ascending Mount Fuji but ascending a mountain next to it. This is a very nice hike you can do in 1 day. Start in Mitsu-tōge Station, end in Kawaguchi-ko.

On the way to the top
There are nice things to see on the way to the top. I did this track in March so there was some snow on it... When you meet the hachi-ju-hachi-daiishi (88 little statues), you're on the right track! Take a look at these pictures.

Mitsu-tōge-yama summit (1785m)
When the sky is clear, you'll have a great view on Mt. Fuji.

The path to Shimo-san (1302m)
Just follow the ridge to the south-west. Don't forget to look at Fuji-san from time to time...

Tenjoo-san
Before arriving at the touristic viewpoint, you'll see this little shrine.

End in Kawaguchiko
You can take the cablecar or walk down. It's not so hard because there are stairs...

Very nice trail with beautiful landscape! I didn't finished it completly because the weather changed! Up and down the mountain was a little difficult to walk because of the wet leafes - with trekking poles it would have been much easier! Maybe next time I'll finish it!
