Itinerary description
It's hard to describe the magic and beauty of this place, of this walk. Prespes. You are in the ideal walk to enjoy the fine views of mikri prespa Lake in the Northwestern Greece. Greece, Albania and FYROM share the waters of megali "big" prespa. Walking this path you can enjoy the fine views of vidronisi and Agios achilleios. Vidronisi was named after the otters that live around the lake. From mikronisi village a path leads to the ruined village of Kranies. Once upon time the village was thriving from fishing. However it was deserted after the civil war. The village was bombarded by government forces. Almost nothing remains of the jails and military buildings that the Democratic guerilla army maintained here during the years of the civil war. The surrounding landscape is dominated by broadleaved tree species and scatteted juniper trees.
