This mountain peak is located in Tavush Province, in the north-westerly part of the Areguni Range, 6 km from the city of Dilijan. The right tributary (Hayotsjur) of the Hovajur River begins on the northern slope of this mountain, while two more tributaries –the Yeghegnaget and Tujiget – begin on the western side. The mountain’s slopes are covered with mounds of stone and alpine and sub-alpine vegetation, as well as many cold water springs. The mountain is located on the territory of “Dilijan” National Park, which covers an area of 33,765 ha. The National Park’s main purpose is to protect its oak and beech forests and their characteristic diversity of flora and fauna.
