Itinerary description
We traveled by bus from Piaza Central to Mereni for around 25 MDL (1.30 euros). Once there, we visited the Gulag Museum (Expoziția “Bazarabeni în GULAG). Afterwards, we walked along a pleasantly flat path along the stream before climbing up to Crama Diaconu.
It seems that the owner there is a very talented artist. The fantasies and propations of his figures in the art garden are above average. From the crama we make our way to the lake Maximovca to spend our lunch break by a small campfire. We then walked past many sunflowers and walnut trees towards Chisinau where we returned to the Piaza Zentral from the Trollybus stop (Number 37) at 6 MDL.

Hello Guido,
We will be in Moldova for 2 weeks arriving next Wednesday. We see you are an expert in hiking there so we are very interested in your hikes.. Is it easy to use public transport to go to a starting point or back?

To use buses is mostly simply, some are more fully then in Europe but less then in India ;) They are going from Chisinau from different busstations that is important to know but autogara.md shows you the possibilities.

Thank you very much for your quick reply. We will be in Chisinau on May 22-26. Then we hope to go hiking in the areas of Orhei, Saharna and Riscani. But except from Chisinau our itinerary can change any time :-). In case you plan a hike on Saturday you can always let us know. Have a nice day.
Welcome, Orhei Veche I guess you mean, is possible by bus. Saharna and Riscani is to far to use a bus for a one day hiking tour, but with a rent car it is a wonderful tour, more nature then in Orhei Veche that is more touristic, with restaurants and other touristic offers.

The Tours with the villages Bränesti, Budujeni, Trebujeni, Furceni are in Orchei Veche. That helps if you search a bus to Orchei Veche ;-)
Yes indeed I meant Orhei Veche. We plan to stay overnight for 3 days in each area and go there using public transport. But finding accommodation online is not always. We will sort it out once we are in Chisinau. Thank you very much again for your tips and help!
