Ancient road from Merag to Cres with a panoramic digression to the ruins of the convent of S. Bartolomeo located on the top of a hill.
When you disembark the Merag ferry you take an uphill road that then leads to a downhill hairpin to connect with the route that will be traveled. It exceeds the church of St.Ivan overlooking the sea. After a long diagonal uphill, it winds with three wide hairpin bends to reach the upper pastures of the pass. 0.45 am from Merag
A gate to the north and red signs indicate the way to reach the top of the mountain that can be reached by wide meadows following dry stone walls (signs). On the summit was the convent of S. Bartolomeo, now only a ruin. Around pastures enclosed by low walls. 0.15 hours from the pass.
Returning to the pass you go down the side of Cherso to the west, leaving a capital on the right and reaching the asphalt road. Continue one hundred meters along the asphalt road and then take the mule track to the left south-west, which leads wide and with many hairpin bends up to the meadows north of Cres.
This last stretch is very scenic. Descent about 1 hour
