Itinerary description
Easy hike to small round lake giving birth to the Memaloose creek. Preparing to the trip I have found a trail to the lake that starts from the road NF 45. But this road is closed from both sides. Looking at the map I have found that road NF 4540 has a branch that ends very close to the lake. I decided to explore it. It ends at the butte with good South view to with Mt Jefferson at distance. The hike relatively steep descent to the lake along the trail in decent condition though the sing at the lake informs that the trail is not maintained.
On the way to the trail head we stopped by the a small lake where the road NF 4530 branches from NF 4540 (45.092861, -122.256668). It is obvious people use this place for target shooting: a lot of empty gun cartridges and smashed targets are scattered around. The first two pictures bellow are from this small lake.
