Itinerary description
Easy trail (mostly dirt road) along Melissourgoi valley, below the highest summits of Tzoymerka from the less known east side. Abundant wildlife (cuckoos, eagles, chamois). Most of the trail is dirt road. The trail climbs up to the col between Ayti and Kommeno (final point), with excellent views of Athamanio, Chatzi and Agrafa mountains. From there, one can continue down to Theodoriana village or to the west side towards Katafidi summit (call before getting there, not always open!). There was still snow on the south slopes of Tzoumerka (Gerakovouni and the mountain range towards Katafidi) in may 2024. Net walking time: ~6h.
