I did this hike on 30th September, 2023. I like hiking and mountains, but I'm not fit enough and quite fat to tell the truth. So, this was a tough challenge for me, but I managed to do the whole track alone. It took me 18 hours from Mazeri to my hotel in Mestia - so if you think you might have some issues with performance - please start as early as possible.
The track is easy to follow, except for maybe one section when the path is nearing the Guli pass - a lot of crossing cow paths can be a bit confusing, but nothing criminal. Guli pass cannot be missed. Also, when nearing Mestia, it gets steep, and trying to get through all the paths downhill in the night was quite irritating.
Nevertheless - the hike is outstanding, the views are jawdropping, and the satisfaction after the hike is enormous!
