Itinerary description
One of my most exciting hikes. Not because of the distance or complexity, but because of the Falls. It's worth seeing. She's awesome 🌊
A car from Mestia costs around 150 GEL for a car. For this price, the driver will take you to the beginning of the trail and wait for your return. If you are only going to the waterfall or along my trek, you can try to bargain up to 100-120 GEL. If you want to go to the Ushba glacier - it may take too long, the driver will wait almost a whole working day, so you shouldn`t count on a discount.
The trail to the glacier and the waterfall is full of stones and quite long, but it cannot be called hard. The path is ok, many tourists walk along it. At one place you will meet a border guard post, but they didn`t check our documents. They went about their household chores. We greeted them and quietly walked by.
Initially, we went to the glacier, but the weather began to deteriorate, everything was in fog at the top, so we had a bite to eat near the mountain river, which is falling down and went to the waterfall. And this decision paid off one hundred percent!
The disappointment that I would not see the glacier evaporated as soon as we went down to this huge wall of water, with a roar crashing down. I used to see waterfalls, but they always gave off some kind of meh-like feeling - it's not like in the movies 😄
But Shdugra changed everything. It was not even like a movie, but like a dream. So powerful, unreal and inspiring. A great place to shout enough. Only later did I find out that I was looking at a waterfall 160 meters high. If you ever visit Mestia, be sure to get to the Shdugra waterfall - it is worth many other activities 🖖🏻

River

Ford
To get to the waterfall, you need to ford the river back and forth. Maybe there is another way. Be careful - some stones are wobbling here. Better to do it with hiking poles.
