Itinerary description
My Maumturks Challenge walk 2011. Note that I went out of my way to Leenane hill, which even though it was marked on the route card, was unnecessary as the organisers used the wrong name for the hill one of the checkpoints was at. But for this half hour side-trip, I'd have finished first in the challenge. For those preparing to walk this route, be prepared for low visibility, heavy rain and possibly 12+ hours of walking. Good navigation skills are also a must as the ridge is often quite flat on top.
