Itinerary description
very beautiful and diverse trail to the breathtaking Mayagusku Waterfall, passing Maryudo and Kanbiree Waterfall; to get to the entrance take the sightseeing boat from Urauchi River Cruise that runs daily from 9:30 am (sometimes from 9 am) to 4 pm, ¥ 2,200 round trip; Important: Don’t tell the staff of the boat company that you plan to walk until Mayaguku since they won’t give you a ride in this case!!! Looks like they don’t want anybody to go there on her/his own (an agreement with the tourist companies who wanna sell their tours? I don’t know), even though it’s an official trail of the national parks with information boards, signs and lots of pink ribbon so that it’s hard to get lost, you just should register at the official website in advance, though; the trail is very easy to walk until Kanbiree Fall and moderate from there, just the last 300 m to Mayagusku you have to be careful due to the many rocks you have to pass; Please note: You can’t walk this trail in normal shoes (not even in hiking boots) due to the mud where you sometimes sink until your knees, I recommend to wear shoes for canyoning, shoes with good grip and that can get wet; the trek is doable in six hours if you walk quickly and avoid longer breaks, make sure that you catch the last boat at 4 pm; the staff from the boat company will ask you which boat for the return you gonna take, tell them the last one because you’re slow, want to enjoy the nature and plan to have a long lunch break, otherwise they have doubts and deny you the ride

Turn LEFT here and go up the river. After 50 m you’ll see the pink ribbon again (do NOT take the path with the pink ribbon at this place here, this way leads to another place!)
