Itinerary description
Reversed start at Red Hill Trail across the road from the Marysville Holiday Park/campground.
Grade 2. Gentle ascents and descending.
Expect an uphill slog for first 15 minutes. Then the trail evens out with very beautiful fern glades. Eventually you intersect with the Michaeldene Trail which takes you to the Taggerty River Lookout. A good spot to rest and enjoy a light refreshment.
Not enough miles for me so I opted to take the river trail to Lady Talbot Drive. I returned by same track. Glimpses of river and tree ferns made it worth the while.
Resuming my Michaeldene trail walk was tricky as no signage was evident. Taking a punt paid off, I found signage a little further along near Trestle Bridge.
Onwards I went, a short detour to the Wishing Well grotto, then back to town switching onto the Kerami WalkingTk at the intersection with Lady Talbot Drive . Kerami was gorgeous, cool and took you past some lovely private gardens.
Public toilets at Gallipoli Park Oval, adjacent to end of Michaeldene Trail just over the footbridge to the right.
Then a coldie at The Duck Inn..mmmm!

Cascades Trail is a bike track that intersects with this trail. Lake Mountain to Marysville. Supported ride with bike shuttle service and cafe. One-way trail. 29kms. 571m ascent. 1498 descent.
