Itinerary description
Perched at an altitude of 2400m, Kanatal is a paradise for people who are looking for solace from hustle-bustle. There are multiples ways to reach Kanatal but the easiest one is ~3.5 kms trek from Marwari village. The path from Marwari village to Majhyana Tal is well marked and paved and the trail from Majhyana Tal to Kanatal is prominent too. There are numerous summer dwelling of villagers from Maid. The source of drinking water is little away so one has either carry water or melt snow (in winters). During summers, one can easily find food-water at the dwellings as it is frequented by villagers of Maid.
Manjhyaar Tal is a beautiful natural water lake that can be visited throughout the year. There are many paths to reach the lake but the easiest one is from Marwari village. Marwari village is ~10 kms from Budha Kedar. The path is extremely well marked from the village as villagers visit this lake on a daily basis. The distance of the lake from Marwari village is ~2kms. At the lake, one can find numerous summer dwellings, an ashram where a priest stays throughout the year, a shelter and shed to accommodate ~50 people and a water well for drinking water.
