Itinerary description
Marsanne is a so called 'village perché' and the ancient village is worthwhile visiting. Unfortunately there are quite a few derelict houses and ruins but the old centre has a majestic view towards the synclinal of Saou Forest, Le Grand Delmas, and the Montagne de Couspeau as well as the mountains in the region of Dieulefit and the plains towards the Rhone.
Above the old village you will find the ruins of the Eglise de Saint Félix, 12th century, from which you have an even better view of the region.
From the ancient centre of Marssanne we walked via the Notre Dame de Fresneaux into and through the woods. On hot days these woods will offer you protection from the sun and the heat but provide hardly any views.
The tracks are not steep and there are signposts to lead you into the direction you want to go.
