Itinerary description
Park at Maratea (few free parking available). We took a "long route" since the whole Ferrata is short in general.
Head up following the car road turning left just outside the parking lot. Follow the turns up until you reach the label "via Ferrata del Redentore". In less than 15 minutes, you'll see the chain and there is plenty of space to suit up.
The whole Ferrata is easy, there are two vertical passages and two single-cord tibetan bridges. Formally, there are six sections. You'll stop for plenty of photos, otherwise the Ferrata is doable in about half an hour.
You'll reach the iconic Cristo Redentore at the top of the hill. There is also the chiesa San Biagio, and just behind it, also the return journey. We took the asphalt, but there is also a "cammino San Biagio" that removes few asphalt turns.
You'll reach a paid parking lot, cross it till the end then head for the abandoned church. Turn left and follow the route that will take you to Maratea. There is a fork at another church below, turn right and you'll reach back the town. Now, simply follow the streets to go back where the journey started.
