Itinerary description
|
We start the route in the penultimate parking lot of the mountain pass, since access to the final part is closed due to landslides, so we add about 2 km to the route, following the road at all times. We took a first detour from it, following a narrow path to the right that led us to the first pass, which has spectacular views of the Lagos di Fusine, on the Italian side.
From this point there are several sections equipped with cables and with the occasional exposed section. It should be noted that no equipment is necessary and that we do it with our Jerk dog, but you have to be used to the mountains.
Once we have passed the equipped sections and after covering a flat section without difficulty, we arrive at a sign that indicates the Italian way to the left and the Mangart ascent to the right. This last part goes back up steeply but without cable and straight to the top.
To return we undo all our steps to the car park.

- It is a mountain pass with a cost of €10, they only accept cash 💶
- There is a height limitation of 2'20m in the mountain pass, we pass with a height of more than 2'80m 🚐
