Tatopani traducido es "aguas termales". En este pueblo hay varios manantiales con aguas termales. Llegamos con la idea de darnos un baño pero el tanque grande que recoge el agua estaba vacío. Nos tuvimos que contentar con remojarnos un poco mientras descansábamos.

DESVIO MONASTERIO Praderas PUNTO IMPORTANTE

Camino de Sama hay un desvío. El guía Achut nos propone ir para ir aclimatándonos. Una parte del grupo decide seguir a Sama y otros iniciamos el ascenso para llegar hasta el monasterio que luego resulta que estaba cerrado. Pero si se tiene tiempo es un sitio MUY RECOMENDABLE. LAPU- BESI LLEGADA ETAPA 1

La llegada de la primera etapa es un pequeño pueblo llamado Lapu-Besi. El lodge donde vamos a cenar y dormir tiene de nombre LAXMI y está muy bien. Los porteadores han llegado bastante cansados. SAMA Llegada etapa 6

Llegamos a Sama un bonito pueblo a las faldas del Manaslu. Fue construido en 1959 por refugiados tibetanos. En este pueblo vamos a permanecer dos días para aclimatarnos y eso permite disfrutarlo mejor. El grupo va a intentar subir al campo base a 4.800 metros. Lo conseguimos dos del grupo. Sama es un pueblo con bastante historia e historias. Lo más importante es que hay una escuela que da servicio a varias poblaciones del valle. BIRENDRA LAGO

Salimos de Sama a primera hora con intención de subir al campo base. El guía se ha quedado haciendo alguna gestión. En un cruce tomamos otro camino y nos lleva hasta el lago Birendra. No estaba previsto pero disfrutamos de las vistas. El lago Birendra es de origen glaciar y está situado justo debajo del Manaslu. Desde la altura tiene un color azur turquesa. Para retomar el camino al campo base tenemos que volver casi hasta el pueblo ya que no ha sido posible pasar la zona de desagüe del lago.

PHILIM COMIENZO ETAPA 4

LAPU-BESI COMIENZO ETAPA 2

Nos levantamos ya de día. Hasta la hora de desayunar damos una vuelta por el pueblo que hace rato ya está en marcha. Una pareja de campesinos están separando el grano y aceptan hacerse una foto. Le enseño la misma a la mujer y se ríe. En el pueblo como en todo el recorrido las casas son muy sencillas. Contrasta la pobreza con la extensión por ej. del teléfono móvil. Hasta en el último pueblo la gente anda con móvil. En lo alto del pueblo destaca la silueta de una gran excavadora. Se ha quedado ahí porqué las lluvias han cerrado el camino de vuelta. En otro lodge me encuentro con unos alemanes que están haciendo un recorrido en btt. Su guía habla castellano. Vivió en Barcelona y me cuenta que trabajó en "Probike" en Barcelona y que ha sido profesional de descenso en btt. El desayuno tarda por lo que decidimos que a partir del siguiente día nos vamos a levantar antes y estar en el desayuno nada más empiecen a servirlo para salir a andar los antes posible.

CAMINO VOLADIZO

JAGAT Llegada etapa 12

BAJANDO LARKE PASS

El guía Achut nos venía repitiendo que era una bajada muy mala y peligrosa. Nosotros nos encontramos un camino muy bien marcado y sin mayores problemas. Con la ayuda de los bastones descendimos sin ningún problema. He visto crónicas de otros montañeros que han tenido problemas con placas de hielo o nieve. No fue nuestro caso. DHARMASALA Llegada etapa 9

La etapa es corta y el camino lo hacemos bastante rápido. Saliendo de Samdo hemos visto como llegaba un helicóptero para trasladar a una mujer con mal de altura. Como el guía Achut se no ha adelantado tenemos sitio en los barracones. La sala que nos toca tiene nueve literas. Somos nueve con los tres madrileños así que perfecto. Un poco justos de sitio pero al final entra todo. Un grupo de franceses llega más tarde y ocupa las tiendas de campaña, A la noche llueve y nieva un poco y se está mejor en el barracón. La mayoría dormimos bien y no pasamos frío. Para estar a 4.400 metros tiene mérito que nos den de cenar a 90 personas a la carta y de manera más que suficiente. Los guías y porteadores duermen en una tienda con bastantes agujeros. A doscientos metros de nuestra zona hay unas pocas tiendas con una expedición que va a subir al Larke.

BIMTHANG Llegada etapa 10

Después del largo descenso vemos Bimthang al fondo del valle. Nos tenemos que poner la txamarra pues empieza a llover. Bimthang es un pueblo de nueva creación para dar servicio a los treekings. Las cabañas son acogedoras y nos damos una ducha con el sistema del caldero con agua caliente. En el comedor encienden la estufa y pasamos un rato agradable. Destaca a la izquierda un bosque.

DHARAPANI Llegada etapa 11

Llegamos a Dharapani después de pasar por unos sitios bastantes peligrosos. Ha habido varios derrumbes y la sensación es que la tierra está en muchos sitios sueltas. En el pueblo hay obras y material pesado para realizarlas. Eso hace que haya bastante barro. El lodge está muy bien. Se llama Green Park. Viene bastante gente a pedir habitación pero está completo. Hay un grupo de españoles. Por la cantidad de gente que pasa se nota que estamos en la ruta de los Annapurnas. Un rato antes de llegar al pueblo veo una persona en el suelo. We arrived in Dharapani after going through quite dangerous places. There have been several cave-ins and the feeling is that the land is in many loose places. In the town there are works and heavy material to carry them out. That makes there a lot of mud. The lodge is very good. It's called Green Park. There are enough people to ask for a room but it is complete. There is a group of Spaniards. Due to the number of people passing by, it is evident that we are on the route of the Annapurnas. A while before arriving at the town I see a person on the ground. I approach and it is a man who is resting. He goes with his two children. One newborn

New Pewa Guest House Hotel

Paramos en este lodge para descansar y comer. Un sitio muy agradable para quedarse a dormir si coincide con el fin de etapa.

We stopped at this lodge to rest and eat. A very nice place to stay to sleep if it coincides with the end of the stage.

Chamje

Hemos vuelto a pasar el río y después de una subida llegamos a Chamje, Hay un mirador y enfrente una cascada.

We have crossed the river again and after a climb we reach Chamje, There is a viewpoint and opposite a waterfall.

PUENTE

Después de andar un rato por la pista pasamos el largo puente y el paisaje cambia. Nos da el sol y hay cascadas por todos los lados. En la otra orilla vemos como los coches y autobuses pasan sin protección al borde del abismo.

After walking for a while on the track we passed the long bridge and the landscape changes. The sun gives us and there are waterfalls on all sides. On the other side we see how cars and buses go unprotected to the edge of the abyss.

DOBHAN - SALIDA ETAPA 3

A la noche ha caído una tormenta y se notaba el aumento del caudal del río por el fuerte ruido que llegaba. Un buen desayuno y en marcha. Subimos una cuesta y nos despedimos de Dobhan.

LHO Llegada etapa 5

Llegamos a Lho pasando un arco budista. Hay cables de electricidad que vienes desde Sama. Sabemos que desde este pueblo hay vistas del Manaslu pero está cubierto. Habrá que esperar al amanecer. We arrived at Lho passing a Buddhist arch. There are electricity cables that come from Sama. We know that from this town there are views of Manaslu but it is covered. We will have to wait until dawn. Hemos disfrutado de la estancia en este pueblo. Ultimo hacia el Tibet y cerca de la frontera.

DHARAPANI Salida etapa 12

Nos levantamos como todos los días pronto. El cocinero del lodge todavía no ha abierto. El desayuno está muy bien. Nos ponemos en marcha al principio por una pista. Vamos en sombra por la garganta. Hasta que no llegamos a un gran puente y pasamos al .otro lado el camino se hace un poco pesado Al rato ya tomamos un camino por la montaña sin coches. Desde el camino vemos la pista por donde pasan los autobuses y coches sin protección y da miedo. Este trozo de ruta lo comparte el recorrido del Annapuna. Nosotros vamos bajando y los que han empezado el treeking de Annapurna van subiendo. Por cierto son bastantes.

We get up like every day soon. The lodge cook has not yet opened. The breakfast is very good. We start at the beginning by a track. We go in shadow down the throat. Until we come to a big bridge and go to the other side the road becomes a bit heavy After a while we took a road through the mountain without cars. From the road we see the track where buses and cars pass unprotected and scary. This piece of route is shared by the Annapuna route. We are going down and those who have started the Annapurna treeking are going up. By the way, they are enough.

SAMDO LLEGADA ETAPA 8

Llegamos al bonito pueblo de Samdo y nos alojamos en el Yak hotel. A mí es el pueblo que más me ha gustado. Hay una amplia planicie utilizada como campos de cultivo de altura. En el pueblo hay un personaje entrañable. Le hice unas bonitas fotos. Mirando en youtube algunos vídeos de otros treks al Manaslu de años atrás lo veo aparecer.

We arrived at the pretty village of Samdo and stayed at the Yak Hotel. To me it is the town that I liked the most. There is a wide plain used as high altitude fields. In the town there is a beloved character. I made some nice pictures. Watching on Youtube some videos of other treks to the Manaslu of years ago I see it appear.

SAMA Salida y llegada etapa 7

Aprovechamos el día que estamos en Sama para subir al campo base del Manaslu. Hace muy buen día. Un buen desayuno y en marcha. Achut el guía se queda retrasado haciendo alguna gestión y nos vamos con los porteadores Santosh Ra y Reman Ra que nunca han subido a éste campo base. La idea es ir al campo base pero tomamos mal un desvío y llegamos a la orilla del lago Birendra. Es una zona con unas grandes vistas de los glaciares y cima del Manaslu. Queremos pasar el lago por la zona de desagüe pero no es posible. Achut que ha vuelto trata de buscar un sitio de paso pero al no ser posible tenemos que volver casi hasta el pueblo y tomar la senda que lleva al campo base. Este recorrido de mas al lago luego pasará factura a algunos del grupo que desistirán de llegar al campo base. Hacemos la subida al mismo de forma pausada. Al ir ganando altura las vistas se van ampliando. Ahora vemos abajo el lago Birendra de un color turquesa. Según vamos acercándonos al c.b. tenemos que ir haciendo alguna parada que aprovechamos para sacar fotos. Santosh y Reman se ofrecen para llevarnos la mochila pero les comentamos que hoy es su día de descanso y que hoy nos toca trabajar a nosotros. Se ríen. Llegamos al campo y disfrutamos un buen rato de sus vistas. En la zona quedan dos expediciones intentando la cima. Llama la atención la ausencia de basura en la zona. Bajamos sin problemas y llegamos para picar algo. A la tarde una parte del grupo sale a caminar para ir aclimatándose mejor y yo recorro el pueblo "charlando" y viendo las labores de los vecinos y jugando con los niños.

Now we see below the Birendra lake of a turquoise color. As we get closer to the cb we have to go making some stops that we take to take pictures. Santosh and Reman offer to take the backpack but we told them that today is their day of rest and that today we have to work for us. They laugh. We arrived at the field and enjoyed its views for a while. In the area there are two expeditions trying the top. The absence of garbage in the area is striking. We went down without problems and arrived to snack on something. In the afternoon a part of the group leaves to walk to acclimatise better and I go through the town "chatting" and seeing the work of the neighbors and playing with the children.
