We started at the public parking in Malham (paid parking), from there you walk to Malham Cove. Via the stairs (more than 400 steps) you come on top of a beautiful limestone pavement. Malham Cove and the limestone pavement have been used as a film location, including Harry Pottter and the Deathly Hallows.
You walk through the fields, past and over walls to Gordale Scar, walk down the path and then you come to a waterfall.
The gps track indicates that between the rock walls is also quite steep and high, this is not true, probably the GPS signal has been disturbed by the high rock walls.
Then you walk back a bit and you go to Janet's Foss. A fairytale piece of forest, where according to the stories Janet the fairy queen lives behind the waterfall.
Then through the forest (in May it is full of wild garlic) and along the river back to Malham.
Wonderful route!
