Itinerary description
Maja e Velës is a peak in Albania and has an elevation of 1,169 metres. Maja e Velës is situated nearby to Kroi i Bullgatorit, and close to Qafa Bullgatorit. The trail starts from a small but beautiful village Kallmet that is well know for the production of the wine with the same name. At the start of the trail is located one small church of Saint Eufemia. This Trail is not marked so you have to find the best possible path to walk. In this period there are no bushes so we did a shortcut from the normal trail. At 2th km from the start you have to turn right to catch the trail. After reaching the first peak you have to go up and down in order to reach the peak of Maja e Zojes se Drites and after that you have to go also 1.3 km up and down in the ridge of the mountain to reach Vela Peak.
