Itinerary description

Green, green and green. This could be called the Green Levada, from all the plants growing from everywhere. This spectacular levada has also a great view to Ribeira da Janela, there is even a "miradouro" (viewpoint) where you can take great photos.
You can do this levada in different ways. We started on top (1100m alt.) near Fanal and had to go down at least 200m in altitude. Then we did the levada on both ways and got back to the beginning of the Levada (the beginning of the Levada is right after you finish the descend). There you have to be curious/adventurous to find the the waterfalls and small lakes. You go against the flow of the ribeira (small river) and you should find it.
Great Levada!

PS: The Levada is an easy walk, it's only moderate if you want to go up the stairs that's about 200m in altitude.
