Itinerary description
We started at Ponta de Sol, right behind the Capela do Espírito Santo. The levada is not as greener as the ones in the north, but the end is quite something.
But to really see the waterfalls on the picture you have to get to Levada Nova.
To get there you can go up a path that's near the end of Levada do Moinho or you can go to the end of the Levada and go up the "Ribeira" (small river) until you find the start of Levada Nova.
Once you're there you follow the flow of the Levada and you'll find the great waterfall carved in the rock.
There you have two choices you continue the Levada Nova or you go back to Levada do Moinho.
Warning: The Levada Nova is not protected. At least it wasn't on August 2011. Check this video and decide for yourself: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=6XXvChY7R_c

Thank you for the warning! It looks beautiful but too scary for me!
Thank you for the video link. I can't understand how people say this is not dangerous and okay for children even! It does look beautiful and I would have been tempted reading some reviews but I would have been terrified so I really appreciate the warning.
