Itinerary description
A rather easy trail which provides nice views of the mountains around McCall
The trail is well maintained and well traveled. The crossing just before Boulder Lake could be a little tricky. There is some shade.
Just past Boulder lake a well marked trail splits to the right. It goes around the mountain high above the valley, with a good view of this very scenic area.
At Louie Lake there is very poor jeep road that goes to a parking area on a decent gravel road. Around 300 yards down the road a trail to the right goes to the Boulder Lake trailhead. However, this trail requires a creek crossing on ankle-deep water. A trail 100 yards before the crossing goes to the dam and avoids getting wet.
