This monumental volcanic crater, located 390 km north of Las Vegas, gives the impression of walking on the moon. Not that I know the moon, but in fact in the 70s the area was used by NASA to teach geology of volcanic features to astronauts on the Apollo mission.
If you're interested, you can walk to the bottom of the crater. Despite not having a marked trail, I marked my route on the GPS for about 1.8 km.
