An essential classic of the area. A LOT of tourist influx.

It is a route that we will have to start very soon and prepare a little in advance.
It is one of the most visited sites in Canada, in particular Banff National Park. In the summer season, the car park fills up in the early hours of the morning, we did the route in September, so the number of people was a little lower. We had to get to the car park before 7 in the morning.
The day started freezing below zero degrees, although the road was in perfect condition. The roads in the area and more all these that are of great affluence, are in perfect condition and the parkins are comfortable to park. Parking is about $12.50 and you can pay by card and cash.
As it is still night, we waited in the car for a few minutes having a coffee and having something for breakfast that we had brought. When the sun begins to rise we get out of the car to see the sunrise over Lake Luis. Through the footbridges we will easily reach the head of the lake.
The first image is beautiful, the turquoise Lake is surrounded by mountains and glaciers.
The area around the lake is very touristy, we even have a luxury hotel and a cafeteria.
Our route begins leaving the hotel on our right and the lake on our left. It is from the point where most of the routes start, our route is the combination of two of the best known in the area, the Big Beehive and the six glaciers flat.

We will first ascend to the Big Beehive, which is a viewpoint from which you can see a quite aerial perspective of the lake. The path to here will be easy but demanding, you have to climb about 500 meters in a few kilometers. The trail runs through woods And during the session we will be able to visit 2 other upper lakes in Lakes louis.
Once we reach the viewpoint, we can go down the back of the mountain and connect with the second route of the day.
This is the plain of the 6 glaciers. The route consists of reaching the glaciers that can be seen from the beginning of the lake to the end of it all. This route does not have any difficulty. The path is wide and the difference in level to overcome, in this case, will not be greater than 200 or 300m. As we get closer to the glaciers, the views are magnificent. Before our eyes we will discover the different glaciers that feed Lake Louise. We will reach the end of the path, which stops at the walls of Mount Victoria. Not being able to advance further Unless we practice other disciplines.
The way back is beautiful. Like other ways back, they become monotonous and boring. In this case, the views of Lake Louis, which we will get closer to little by little, make the way back a beautiful walk.

The final part of the route coincides with a lot of people, it is already quite late in the afternoon and many tourists have accessed the lake. There is quite a bit of noise and the lake loses some of its charm.
We took the opportunity to take some photos around the lake, have some lunch and enjoy the magnificent day we had.

A mandatory route if you visit the area that you have to plan with some time. It is worth getting up early or paying for the bus if necessary (It is advisable to book on the Banff National Park website).
It is one of the most beautiful places in all of Canada.
I hope you enjoy them as much as we do.
The moderate route rating is due to the number of kilometers. Both the unevenness and the type of trail are saved without difficulty
You have the recorded route explained also on the YouTube channel.
