Itinerary description
We went out 1 hour and came back the same way. It's an easy hike north of Vail that traverses a scenic ridge separating the Piney and Red Sandstone Drainages. We walked at a moderate pace and enjoyed scenic vistas of the Gore Range and Mt. of the Holy Cross along the way. We had about a 300’ elevation gain. We heard and saw the clear cut logging but it didn't bother us too much.
