Itinerary description
Starting at the hermitage on the outskirts of Competa, head down to Archez via the bodega Jarel. Then take the new path out to the molino in the direction of Canaillas.
Cross the river and head up to the hotel El Cerrillo. Take a right turn onto the main road and the track (GR249) down to the Roman bridge. Turn right and take the river (La Cájula) walk crossing several new wooden bridges and then look for a right turn up through an olive grove. Turn right at the top of the track and follow the road back towards Canaillas. Look for a track right down towards the Rio Turvilla, cross the river and head up towards the cemetery. Keep right and up the GR249 passing below the church, Santa Ana. Follow the GR249 back to Competa ending the walk by the hermitage.
