Itinerary description
Starting at the hermitage at Competa, head down to Bodega Jarel and take the track down towards Archez. Keep right at the crossroads and carry-on down the steep track to Archez. On the main road, turn right and continue into the plaza. We passed the 14th century mudejar church / tower, keep right and out along the new path for the molino. Cross the river and start climbing up towards El Cerrillo. Keep right on the road, drop down to the Roman bridge and up the other side of the valley into Canaillas town centre. We passed through the plaza and up to Ramon's. After coffee we carried-on up the hill taking a sharp left at the entrance to the town. Continue up this road passing restaurant El Fogon and swing around right at the top and below Santa Anna church. Follow signs then for the GR249 back to Competa (2 km) crossing over the quarry road at Mosquin.
