Los Tres Arroyos – Monda
Arroyo Alpujatas - Arroyo del Viejo - Arroyo de Salsipuedes, Monda
This walk starts on the outskirts of Monda by the picnic area by the Arroyo Alpujata which you get to by going onto the Camino Alpujata.
This walk takes in three streams Arroyo de Alpujata, Arroyo del Viejo and Arroyo de Salsipuedes.
The route starts on the Camino del Arroyo del Viejo.
At 1.2km the road is blocked by a gate so you have to go up the dry river bed for 250m, which had some nice sized boulders in places.
At 3.2km there was also a locked gate on the main road and you had to take a path 25m up on your right to a small gate (bed frame) to get through.
You pass through some Cork Woods which bring you down to another locked gate, and 10m to the right past this gate is an opening through the fence which brings you back down to the main path.
From here you carry on until you get to the Camino del Cerro Gordo
Passing this last gate you get back onto the path which eventually meets up at an intersection where you pick up part of the PRA276 route which takes you back to the start of the walk, making it a nice circular route.
There is a lot of shade on this walk, and the small challenges were interesting.
I’m not sure if I was trespassing through some private property, as these are supposed to be main dirt track roads in this area.
