Itinerary description
This little jaunt is an easy six kilometre stroll. Most of it is along mud tracks that are occasionally used by motor vehicles, although we saw none on the track itself.
It is an interesting walk rather than attractive one, as it allows some different segments to the south of Patzcuaro to fall into place. The track crosses the Morelia-Uruapan toll road twice, once by tunnel and once by bridge. It also follows the Patzcuaro-Cuanajo road for around 700 metres (this could be avoided by walking through adjacent fields to the north of the road - there is a track running parallel some 60 m away).
It should be pointed out that the start/end point are next to Rancho La Mesa, which might make a good venue for a post walk beer.
I will be looking at ways to improve and lengthen this trail in the near future. At this point, I will also add some better photos.
