Itinerary description
The trail marker is a bit off but the trail is well marked enough to navigate. It was extremely muddy so eventually I did not want to go any further as I was told it would be closed ahead anyway due to the stormy weather. Multiple river crossings, so would recommend water shoes. I didn’t get to the technical parts requiring ropes although it did state there were some on the trailhead signage - however I believe the ropes are attached so it’s not necessary to bring your own, although I am not entirely sure. I would definitely attempt this again on a less rainy day or time.
Also be prepared to get extremely muddy, and you may want to bring some sort of bag to put your regular shoes in (as it can be uncomfortable to hike in water shoes). I got some splinters from sharp branches in my feet as well (despite water shoes), so bringing tweezers could be handy in case. Still, the jungle was beautiful and peaceful.
Another FYI is that there is a metro bus that runs to the top that you can take, it doesn’t say that on google maps (or at least didn’t for me). Helpful at least for the way out as there were no Ubers or taxis available even after I walked the entire road down.
