Itinerary description

An adventurous route on the flanks of the Yalı Dağı with beautiful views over the sea and exciting passages through pine forests.

The hike starts from a small piece of land where you can park near the Kargicak Koyu. From there we walk the last steps to the beautiful beach at this bay. We follow the beach and go up the hill. There is a signposted route but it is not so easy to find. But it doesn't matter. It is a matter of walking up and following this GPS track as closely as possible.

Soon we arrive at a kind of crossroads of hiking trails, which are marked with red or yellow dots. We take the leftmost "red option" and are now going to follow a nature trail that is clearly marked with red dots but also with stones along the edge of the path that help to indicate our route. We now follow the foot of the mountain a bit and stay at a fairly constant altitude so that walking is rather easy. We always walk close to the sea, so that we sometimes already have nice panoramas. We pass above the Sea Garden resort, after which our route curves to the right and clearly starts to go up much steeper. As we get higher, we have more and more impressive panoramas.
Eventually we arrive at the top of the mountain where we see antennas. We continue on an easy dirt road and then turn right into the forest. We are now going to follow a nature trail again but it is not marked. So we have to pay close attention to take the right route. A landmark that we should see at the beginning is a kind of well or small basin (see waypoint).
We follow this path until we reach a few houses. We then continue on some dirt roads between the olive groves and then proceed on another nature trail, again unmarked. We pass through another pine tree forest, where sometimes there can be prickly plants. It is therefore advisable to follow this route with sturdy shoes and long pants. At a certain moment our path ends at a stone wall that seems to have been erected there recently. We keep to the left and walk around it to continue our path on the other side of the walled compound.
Shortly afterwards we arrive at the crossroads of the hiking trails that we have already passed at the beginning of this walk and we follow the road back to our starting point.
So we pass the beautiful beach again, in the summer it will be hard to resist to take a refreshing dip here!

Some additional information:
The route is designed in a clockwise direction.
Time spent: total = 6 hours 53 minutes of which moving = 1 hour 53 minutes
The track is moderate from a technical point of view. It is not always easy to find the route. An adequate orientation ability is therefore a requirement. It is recommended to wear sturdy shoes and long pants.
There is no drinking water along the way.
Presence of signposts:
There are red dots for the first 4 km.

If you think this is a nice track, please write a feedback. If you have had any problems, please comment and explain the solution you found. Remember that it takes less time to write a comment or review than it takes to create and post a track! But only in this way the information remains up-to-date.

Disclaimer.

I have personally performed and then downloaded the route described, along with the track and waypoints, based on my personal experience. However, it is important to note that these should be considered as general guides and not precise instructions. Trails may not always accurately represent the exact itinerary due to factors such as weak satellite reception during GPS recording, especially in areas with ravines, deep gorges, dense forests, and similar conditions. Furthermore, the situation of the hiking trails may change over time, meaning that the descriptions given no longer correspond to the current situation.

It is the sole responsibility of the individual undertaking these trails to take appropriate safety measures, which should be tailored to the specific difficulty level and be in accordance to the prevailing weather conditions. Additionally, it should be realized that one's technical and physical preparedness play a crucial role in ensuring a safe hiking experience.

I strongly recommend hiking with a companion when venturing into the mountains. Always inform a friend or family member of your itinerary and estimated time of return. Ensure that your phone has a sufficient battery charge, and carry an adequate supply of water, food, and appropriate shelter for the season and the chosen route.

Please commit to leaving the natural environment as pristine as you found it, or even better. This way, we can all continue to enjoy the beauty of these trails, leaving behind only the traces of our footsteps.
