Itinerary description
A fairly adventurous route on nature trails along the sea and through a rural nature area with occasional olive trees and some greenhouses near the village.
The route departs from the parking lot at Üzüm İskelesi. On this place there is a café that is open in summer. We are first going to follow the Likya Yolu 6.02, which is marked with white-red stripes. The path winds along the sea, so we occasionally have nice views of the typical Turkish coast in this area.
After more than a kilometer we arrive at a place where there are a few camping places for the hikers of the Likya Yolu. This point can be recognized by a single palm tree that stands right next to the sea.
We turn left here and go inland. We are now going to follow a nature trail that is signalled with blue markings. At one point we pass along olive trees and then past a few greenhouses before entering the hamlet Sısla Mevki.
Here you can admire mainly some local guesthouses, but actually there is not much to do. After a short stretch of asphalt road, we continue on a dirt road, back towards the sea. The route is not signposted on this stretch, but nevertheless easy to find. After walking almost two kilometers on this road, we arrive near the sea and continue on the Likya Yolu.
This last stretch back is another nature trail that winds along the sea. Every now and then we have to climb quite a bit because the path does not always stay close to the sea. But we also have beautiful views over the coast and the many islands that are in this area.
Some additional information:
The route is designed in a counter clockwise direction.
Time spent: total = 6 hours and 25 minutes of which moving = 1 hour 46 minutes
The track is moderate from a technical point of view. It is not always easy to find the route. An adequate orientation ability is therefore a requirement. It is recommended to wear sturdy shoes and long pants.
There is no drinking water along the way.
Presence of white-red signposts:
The Likya Yolu along the cost is signalled with white-red markings.
From the sea until Sısla Mevki the trail is marked with blue signals.
If you think this is a nice track, please write a feedback. If you have had any problems, please comment and explain the solution you found. Remember that it takes less time to write a comment or review than it takes to create and post a track! But only in this way the information remains up-to-date.
Disclaimer.
I have personally performed and then downloaded the route described, along with the track and waypoints, based on my personal experience. However, it is important to note that these should be considered as general guides and not precise instructions. Trails may not always accurately represent the exact itinerary due to factors such as weak satellite reception during GPS recording, especially in areas with ravines, deep gorges, dense forests, and similar conditions. Furthermore, the situation of the hiking trails may change over time, meaning that the descriptions given no longer correspond to the current situation.
It is the sole responsibility of the individual undertaking these trails to take appropriate safety measures, which should be tailored to the specific difficulty level and be in accordance to the prevailing weather conditions. Additionally, it should be realized that one's technical and physical preparedness play a crucial role in ensuring a safe hiking experience.
I strongly recommend hiking with a companion when venturing into the mountains. Always inform a friend or family member of your itinerary and estimated time of return. Ensure that your phone has a sufficient battery charge, and carry an adequate supply of water, food, and appropriate shelter for the season and the chosen route.
Please commit to leaving the natural environment as pristine as you found it, or even better. This way, we can all continue to enjoy the beauty of these trails, leaving behind only the traces of our footsteps.
