Itinerary description
We started our hike in the early morning on a hot summer day next to Tarchich-Zahleh road. The beginning of the trail is on dirst road. Just after reaching the telecommunication site, we left the trail and started climbing on the ridge. As you go higher, the sceneries become more and more stunning, having Metn towns on your right with their beautiful ponds, Bekaa valley on your left and Mount Sannine behind you. At the top, you can see the old building of Teleliban that was destroyed by an air raid during the lebanese war in 1982. We then continued to the East; This part is really difficult for many hikers and I do NOT recommend it for beginners. The descent starts from the site of roman ruins site towards Bouarej town in Bekaa. The descent is not easy and requires a good balance and your advanced hiking skills. The slope is steep at some parts and slippery at others. Experienced hikers would love this descent. After this tricky part, you will get back on dirt trails without any difficulty. On this part, you will be walking while having Kneisseh massif on your left and the Bekaa valley on your right. Soon, you will reach Remtaniyeh. If you are planning on having a break/lunch, I recommend you try "Vertical 33" winery (Family business). After that, continue your way up north till your starting point. Make sure to start very early and have a lot of water since this area gets really hot in summer. Enjoy hikers!
