Itinerary description

Stunning loop in the amazing Ehmej! I highly recommend this trail. Mixed nature sceneries, forest walks, rocky paths... Very pleasant in autumn with a great weather.
We parked at Arz Ehmej camping, and started our hike at "Wadi el Siyyar". Follow the blue signs all along this trail. This part is easy with no technical difficulties. After 2 km, cross the Moukhada road and go up to the "Jouwar el Naas" ponds. Keep following the blue signs until you see "purple and yellow" signs. This is where the "Tellej trail" intersects with LMT side trail from Aqoura to Ehmej (check waypoint). Follow the LMT side trail that goes up to Tellaj Ehmej. Once you reach Tellaj area, you will find the “Via Ferrata” metallic chains securing the narrow passage. This part is not dangerous nor technical, and metallic chains are here to make you feel more secure.
After Tellaj area, you will reach a mountain pass with amazing sceneries all around. Best place to have lunch or coffee. From here, you start the descent following the well-maintained LMT side trail (purple and yellow signs). Soon after, you will reach again an asphalt road (the same that goes to Moukhada). Go right and continue on the road for 1 km. Take your left after "Wardiet campsite" and enter "Wadi el Ghbar". The upper part of this valley is beautiful, a real forest walk! The end of "Wadi el Ghbar" is not really nice, since you will have to walk then next to Ehmej- Laklouk main road. To avoid this part, we decided to leave "Wadi el Ghbar" and we caught a footpath that goes up to a beautiful plateau, then down to intersect with "Wadi el Siyyar" and finish our loop in Arz Ehmej. Leave the trail and go right. You will pass by a beautiful passage between rocks and an off-trail part. This part is more beautiful than the Wadi el Ghbar passage that is next to the main road.
