Itinerary description
Exploration along the water canal that apparently brings water from the Lamartine mountain to Beirut. Quite amazing views so close from Beirut, especially on the way back. The only negative are the first stretches are heavily littered and two crossings of sewage coming down from the villages. Disappointing but not a big deal.
The beginning of the hike is on the ridge of the wadi. Few meters walking on the big pipes. The second half is in the oak forest. We met some locals who said the path along the canal is an old Roman path, rehabilitated by the French, that goes down to Beirut. I will try to push further one of this day - not in summer though.
Please keep nature clean. Hike it, Protect it #LMT
