Itinerary description
This trail leads from the Desolation Wilderness parking lot at Loon Lake to Pleasant Camp on the east shore of Loon Lake. This is a nice, relatively flat hiking trail that doesn't have too much of an elevation change. The USFS has recently gone through with a chainsaw (July 2014) and cut fallen trees from the trail. There are some areas with encroaching vegetation so I encourage people to bring loppers to remove brush from the trail. Pleasant camp is secluded and quiet. It is a nice place for an overnight before your hike into Desolation. Very scenic!
