Itinerary description

A loop trail in Staffordshire starting and finishing at Longnor. Includes High Wheeldon, Parkhouse Hill* and Chrome Hill. Chrome Hill is carpeted with wild flowers in May.

*Warning: the Western section of the ridge path of Parkhouse Hill is steep and difficult. Trekking poles are essential if descending Westwards from the summit.

Alternatively, you can:

(1) avoid the difficult section of path by going up to the summit from the East side then descend the same way then continue the walk by taking the footpath that roughly follows the 275 metre contour South of Parkside Hill

(2) do the whole walk in reverse so that you go up the West side and down the East side. This makes the West side a bit easier but care is still required and trekking poles recommended
